April Ross

April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third medal. Ross wants to achieve more than her initial Olympic medal. At 39, it could be her last opportunity to accomplish this. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and playing well, I think we could get the gold medal." That's why I'm taking a little bit of luck too. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. Along with playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. In addition to the indoor game, she also ran track and basketball in her pre-college days. She was clearly the best player in indoor volleyball. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter in her volleyball playing career in high school. Her achievements were rewarded in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Players of the Year. In addition, she was awarded the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might have begun working together at the beginning of 2017, but Ross was an experienced volleyball player before they teamed up. She has had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with an iconic volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 to 2013. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Along together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009 while competing on the international circuit. The duo would go on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team that took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, took them out to win the gold medal. The fate of the matter was that Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. Together, they won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross began her collegiate professional career playing for the Trojans of USC in graduation from high school. It was a long time before Ross hit the sand and turned pro. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. During her sophomore year she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to be a second All-American. In her last two years of participation in the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every year. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in America through the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the chance to watch Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and close. Margie, on the beach as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
