Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946, into a low-income family, with twelve kids at one point, realized that she could escape suffering through her imaginative mind. Before she could write or read she wrote her own music. After 8 years of age, she had her very first guitar. When she was 11 years old when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. That same time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Although she became popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her dreams were bigger. When she graduated from the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for women to sing for his syndicated television program at around the exact time. Parton accepted the role in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. 1. for the first time since 1974.
